Last night, Mr Joseph Cao (Cao Anh Congress) voted on behalf of Louisiana, in favor of HR 3962. Joseph Cao said Democrats in the House to approve the reform of health care Saturday night.Cao only Republican to vote for HR 3962. Cao knew that their vote would spark immediate question. On Saturday night, Joseph Cao issued a statement explaining their reason long crossing party lines to join 219 Democrats to reform health care passhealth. Cao represents Orleans and Jefferson Parish. He said he hears people claiming to be and the elderly and children need real options in primary care. "I read the versions of the House [health reform] Bill. I have heard many stories of Orleans and Jefferson Parish citizens whose costs of health care is exploding - if Louisianians able to get health care to all. Need real options for care primary mental health care and expanded health care for the elderly and children.
“Today, I obtained a commitment from President Obama that he and I will work together to address the critical health care issues of Louisiana including the FMAP crisis and community disaster loan forgiveness, as well as issues related to Charity and Methodist Hospitals. And, I call on my constituents to support me as I work with him on these issues. The bill would require most Americans to have insurance and require that employers offer it. There are penalties for non-compliance. Insurers will no longer be allowed to charge premiums based on gender or medical history. Straight from the linked article, it says that "the industry would lose its exemption from federal antitrust restrictions on price gouging, bid rigging and market allocation." So as for now, it's not looking good for those in opposition as the 1,990 page, $1.2 trillion legislation has passed the House. There is a provision that mentions that the government will sell insurance, although its premiums are predicted to be higher than those of private insurance companies, not to mention completely unrelated to necessary government functions.
